X800 PRO

Guess I already asked my question. I bought one yesterday to go in
my Amd Athlon 64 3200 rig. I also have an Intel 3 gig socket 478 setup.
Both have 1024 Meg of ddr400 ram and Sata drives. Will it work better in
the Amd or the Intel. One is an Msi K8t neo 2 and the other is an Msi 865pe
neo 2-p.

yes, it will play todays games. not at the max resoultion always but it will play them smooth and pretty at some nice settings =)

No, you need to spend $900+ on 2 x GeFore 6800 Ultra in SLI to play new games at 100 FPS. Anything below 100 FPS is too choppy to play.

Just joking. Of course the Radeon X800 Pro will play new games just fine. I'd be worried if you asked if an "Intel Extreme Graphics 2" could play new games. 😛

Yes, it's about as fast as the 6800GT (well, ok, fine, can be about 5% slower at times) and can play any game now at max settings at either 16x12 or 12x10.

However, i wouldnt expect it to age as well as the 6800GT, but it should still last a good while.

Intel's "Extreme" Graphics are absolute garbage! It may play GLQuake or Quake2 at 800x600 reasonably well but forget about anything else.:thumbsdown:

even a 9800p will play today's games at 10x7 😉

the x800 series will play the same games with higher fps at higher resolution and with more aa/af.

probably good till SM 3.0 is popular and today's game engines get tweaked further - another year or two . . . . of course it will get eclipsed by r520 this Spring (x900!?!).

lol a friend of mine was playing NFSU and Halo on an Extreme Graphics 2. it was so bad i almost pissed myself. the wheels on the cars were like blocks and it would lag like crazy, even when staring at a wall 😛

yup my 9800pro (with 360 core) is still playing todays games at 10x7 medium or high detail just fine

especially CSS everything maxed @ 10x7 🙂 love that game
