X800 Pro vs X800 XL vs 6600 GT

don't listen to whatever these guys say. right NOW, the x800 pro is the best bang for the buck. you can get a refurb from ati for 170. go to newegg, and the first reliable vender costs like 179, and the pro is better than the 6600gt but worse than an xl. an xl would give a good performance boost, but not for $100 more. once the pro becomes too slow to play any games at settings that you like, the $100 can be used in say 2 years for something around thex700 pro level (it'll be far better than any pro or xl). you could also put another 100 towards taht first 100 for something like the pro you bought. i found out through experience that it's a total waste to spend over $200 for a video card.

While I agree with you, you just wasted time like I am right now. This question was asked in April, if you check the OP date 😛
 
If you are on a budget get a X800 GT. To make things even more interesting, get the Power Color version, they are X850 cores and overclock like nothing else. Minus the eight pipes you can get them to X850 core speeds.

why, it's still a relevant thread and there's good info here. Personally I just bought the x800 XL for almost half the cost of the 6800GT.
 
yea i didnt notice how old it was untill after i posted...

where the hell didyou find an xl for half the price of a gt?!!?!!?!?!? i'll buy it now.
