I've been getting 50C Idle and 75C Load. Is this normal for an X800 Pro considering it has 4 less pipes and lower clocks?

That sounds about right, I used to run one of those.

My temps drastically dropped after I installed an ATI Silencer w/ Artic Silver 5.

What would an X800 XT or X850 XT temps be? I would guess over 80C at Load which still seems pretty high?

Maybe just a little bit higher than x800pro temps. Video card temps are higher than ever now, it's just our new reality. The fact is, aftermarket cooling does make a big difference.

These are the same kind of temps I was getting on my X850 XTPE. I put my Zalman VF700cu that I had from my previous card (X800pro) and my temps are now 31 idle/52 load. I highly recommend putting this cooler on your card.

I would but I am a little nervous about toying with the card. Especially when applying the past to the GPU without it overflowing but also applying a sufficient amount.

It's easy. You want to use about "a grain of rice" in size of thermal compund. Go to the Zalman web site and they have a flash video on "how to". You'll then see how easy it is.

I have had my x800pro @ 555/555 for months now and it has never crashed on me or gone over 70 under load.

I raised the speeds to X800 XT/X850 Pro speeds (500/500). No artifacts were found for 2 hours but the temps were around 80C. Could this do since this cards temps seem to be above 75C anyway?

I used to get higher temps but then I used some AC5. I think a grain of rice is too big. Try half of a grain of rice, a small grain of rice.
