X800 Pro giving corrupted textures in HL2

I just got this video card from Cownipples and right away its acting up.

My Half Life 2 is giving me corrupt textures. The thing is that at first, everything looks ok. But as the game goes along, more and more things get corrupted (Names, walls, guns, bullets, everything)

Im thinking that as the game plays, the video card gets hotter, so I dont know.

Can anyone help me figure out whats going on with this?

It is built by ATI. I dont know if pipes are unlocked, I dont know anything about overclocking and stuff like that 🙁 thats why I consult AAT forums for upgrades :\

Try taking off the side of your case and see what happens. If you still have a problem try updating your drivers if you haven't already done so. If the problem persists contact ATI and get an RMA#. Try troubleshooting before RMAing though.

Ive used ATITool to turn the fan at 100% for a while, and seems like I still get some corrupted textures. Does this mean that the ram on the card may be damaged? or?

Sounds like the owners fault since he said the card didnt artifact/

I'd PM him since this happened once you got it.

its possible he overclocked the mem too far and permanently damaged it... If case open + fan 100% + possibly a household fan blowing into case does not help, then id wager that it is the previous owners fault.

edit: oh and checking that link :
I say carefully glue it in place and RMA it, hey really don't look over every resister, they glance at the card, test it and replace, they have too many RMA's to be too picky! It would work, dishonest but they are so over priced anyways , can't get much higher then they are, Nvidia, and Ati have been ripping off the public for a long time. LOL

He doesnt sound very honest...

ya thats what I was afriad of 🙁

what a pain in the ass, I have saved for months to finally be able to afford a gaming video card and enjoy it for the summer :

If the graphics card was bought by you qua a functioning piece of hardware, you should definately get compensation (meaning at least full refund) or a functioning card.

Yea, im expecting nothing less than a full refund, I also want some compensation of some sort for this crap I gotta go through since the hardware was damaged (and probably known) when sold to me while trying to pass it off as a perfectly fine video card.

Ok guys before flaming me , first off card was flawless when sent out worked in my shuttle system which has little or no airflow, Then how do I know that I'm not getting gamed here? Maybe its a Motherboard compatibility conflict. I am willing to take the card back with refund minus my shipping upon its return, but if the card is in working order when it gets here then what? Also he could just rma it and recieve another card, they do what they called advanced rma, you give them your credit card number they hold it until they get your old card back. I am sorry he is having these issues, I sent him a good working card! RMA ing it would be the fasted resolve.

By they way pipes are untouched 12 pipes only, I only used ATI tool for tweaking ect.

Just RMA it if it's artifacting at stock speeds. I had the same problem with a 9800 Pro once. They'll send you a brand new one, for FREE in 10 days or less, minus the cost to ship it to them. But like it's been suggested, get some more air running over it. Good luck!

Technically once you overclock the card your warranty is void.

However the thing is that most of the time ATI won't check it or won't care.
So it all depends on your consience, but in this case I would suggest you RMA it anyway, since you said that you have never overclock the card.
