x800 makes it thru startup, Windows loading screen artifacts...

I am testing out an Sapphire x800 XT AGP card and I get lines and patterns on the screen. The PC boots up through the loading info fine. When it gets to the XP loading screen the progress bar is messed up. After that the screens have vertical white bands running through them.

I have the latest drivers installed (4.12) and I upgraded from a 9700 Pro. So I did not do a reinstall of the drivers. I don't think it's a driver issue since it happens before the driver would be loaded in.

Any thoughts appreciated.

it sounds like there is possibly something wrong with the video cards. I've had the same thing happen with 3x6800GT's, but all of those went bad on me and i think my mobo may be causing them to die.

Anyways, u may wanna get some more opinions, but i think it's the cards.

Hmm...is the card running too hot? It properly seated in the agp slot? I would say it might be a psu problem, but it looks as though you have an Enermax 495 and that's plenty of power for that card...hmm
