I have a x800 gto unlocked to 16 pipes, would like to get a crossfire to add to the one I have. Are they available, is it worth it?

I might be entirely wrong here but I think that you can get an X850 master card and use it with your GTO. I would also flash the GTO to the same specs as the X850 just for the sake of it. This is not absolutly needed though cause the cards have the ability to run different frequencies and such. There are some limiting factors with the X800 series though, such as something like a 1600X1200ish limit in resolution. I would be willing to try it out as well just for fun, aslong as you can get a real good price on the master card

honestly, there is no point in going crossfire on the old gen cards (my friend bought 2 cards in crossfire with his dell - aint worth it). i'd just get another higher end card (8800/X1950) and forget about crossfire.

Also a X800 crossfire version existed, just can't find it anywhere. It's core clock ran at 400MHz and I don't remember the RAM speed. If you flash the X800GTO to X850 then you should have no problems with the X850 Crossfire. But the main problem is that since it has only 1 TMDS, is limited to 1600x1200 at 60Hz max of resolution, still a good performance boost, but doesn't worth the hassle of it's issues like SLI, some games not compatibles, some settings not working the way they supposed to, random crashes, instability, higher power consumption, but the X850 crossfire the last time I saw it, it was priced over 150 bucks, is not bad for real. But if you save your money and go to the X1950 PRO you may get the same performance, a bit less or a bit more depending of the games, AVIVO, Open EX HDR and SM 3.0 which could be mandatory in the future even that it just bring some performance improvements only.

The ATI store has X800 (16-pipeline) PCI-E 256MB Crossfile cards available whitebox for $80. Click on "buy" on the homepage, and then click on "clearance" on the right-hand side.

I agree that a purchase of an X1950 would likely be a much better investment however.
