X79 or X99 - for 8x/0x/8x/8x/8x/0x/8x

socket 2011 has 40 pcie 3.0 lanes direct from the cpu without plx.

so - which X79 or X99 motherboard (if any) has this configuration?

slot 1 = 8x
slot 2 = 0x
slot 3 = 8x
slot 4 = 8x
slot 5 = 8x
slot 6 = 0x
slot 7 = 8x

You're going to want one of the high end X99 boards to get that many slots; Rampage 5, Xtreme 11, Classified, UD9 etc. We have no specs until Friday when we can see them at online shops though, but the safe bet is you'll need one of the boards I mentioned.

perhaps the per slot pcie 3.0 lane requirements was a bit confusing.


in laymen's terms. looking for a x79 or x99 motherboard that supports.

both
4 gpu with dual slot card (for now)
and
3 gpu with triple slot card (for the future)
with
minimum pcie 3.0 8x and no plx.
