X79 256gb ram

Possible to put 256GB RAM on the Intel X79?

ie: 8x32gb DIMMS, for $20k in total cost?

I had the Crucial ones in mind.... I'm just wondering, 'theoretically'. I don't have $20k to put anything together like this :lol:.

I put in 48GB on my x58 but an 8GB dimm is far less strain on an unsupported controller then a 32GB dimm. If it can identify one module then definitly although you might be better off on a dual socket 2011 board.
