Hi,

I posted before but I am still in doubt so I will give some more details. The kind of games I want to be able to play smoothly are EASports FIFA and NBA Live 2006 etc.. Some will say these games aren't that demanding, but the thing is I want to be able to set all graph settings to max high in these games and still get very good framerate and then something like NBA Live becomes alot more demanding I remember from the past.

So my question is if a card like a 6600GT or X700Pro is more then good enough to play FIFA and NBA Live 2006 with all graph settings to max high and still get very good framerates. That's what I really would like to know?!

Anybody who has experience with those games and can tell from experience cause that would be best ofcourse!

Also, between those 2 cards, is a 6600GT with 128MB still a better performer then an X700 Pro with 256MB. Isn't the amount of RAM also important? Which of those 2 should I choose?

Many thanks to all who can help me with these questions!! :)

I have no idea what kind of stress that kind of game will put on your computer.... But even a x700 non pro (availible for 70 bucks at TD No Rebate) should be able to handle these sports games meant for the average casual sports gamer.

I paly madden frequently and a 9800pro(about as fast as the x700pro 128mb. plays it at a somooth 55-60fps(vsync limit) at 1152x564. i imagine nba live will perform about the same.

Also, IIRC you don't need more than 30 frames for those games right? Since they don't invovle pinpoint movements and tracking like FPS games do.

yes, i would say 35 fps is needed for madden, probably the same for the others

with a x700 vanilla, i was able to play madden at 1280x1024 2AA/8AF

an x700pro/6600gt is more than enough to play any ea sport game

whichever is cheaper basically

ann , ea makes game for low end card. Anyways the most demanding game ea has published by now would be bf2 which works okay on 9600XT. So your X700 or 6600GT is good enough.

I play nba live 2006 on my comp and the graphics on it is insane! best I've seen on any sport game so far. A 6600 Gt should be able to handle it fine. At some pretty decent settings. But as your resolution gets higher, thats where it'll start to get choppy.
