Should I dish out about 180 for the X700 Pci-E? Will it offer that much better performance than a 9800 pro? (My last video card, but it stopped working, going to try and RMA it I guess). Or is there another alternative for what Im looking at doing?

It's slightly better than a 128mb 9800pro, but not worth dishing $180 for. Are you buying a new motherboard too?
Where is this x700pro for $180? You can get much better cards for that price.

If it's between buying a x700pro for $180 and RMA'ing the 9800pro, I'd just RMA it.

You can get a new X700 (128MB DDR1) at Tigerdirect for $69. It will outpeform a 9800Pro. Make sure you have a PCI-E Mobo

Ive got a mobo with AGP and PCI-e. Im thinking if I RMA maybe ATI will upgrade me to a PCI-e x700 or even just an AGP x700? Ive never RMA'd anything before, typically how long does it take. Is this something where Ima be without a video card for months?

I doubt that they would give you a PCI-e card if you RMA an AGP card. I'm pretty sure they'll just send you a replacement 9800 pro.

dell has an x800 pci-e for like $65 after rebate right now. $180 for an x700 pro is a horrible deal . you arent buying this at a retail store are you?

get a 6800gs (i dont think you can for $180 though) or a 6800 plain before either.

the x700 pro is just barely faster than a 9800 pro agp.

So you have both AGP and PCI-e on your mainboard? The DeLL deal ended on the 31st I think
