x700 Problems

I bought the x700 over christmas just so I could play counterstrike. It worked find when I hard my hard drive partioned 140/20, the 20 was where my OS was installed, and the other 40 is where I had my video card drivers installed. The other day my computer got messed up and so I reinstalled everything, but this time without a partition. The problem im having is that I cant install that video card because a similar named program is running from windowsxp. What am I suppose to do? I cant think of anything. I was suggested something called WinTask or something to keep them serperate but I believe it costs money, and Im trying to find a better solution first if there even is one.

Did you use 3rd party software e.g. Partition magic to do it, or reformat and do a fresh install? Certainly sounds like you didn't get rid of everything during the process. I'd log on as the admin, then run drivercleaner. Check the device mangler first, and see if the x700 is there under display adapters, and uninstall it first, if it is. I presume the ATI stuff doesn't appear in add/remove programs?
