Looking at one of these two cards in all likelihood. Will be used for light home video editing and light gaming, i.e. racing type games like MotoGP3 and Track Mania Sunrise, and some adventure type stuff like Call of Duty, Far Cry, maybe Brothers In Arms type stuff. Since the prices are relatively the same (looking at the 256mb versions), which card would be more suitable for my uses?

the x1300 pro is almost universally slower than the x700 pro at gaming. in some instances the x1300 pro catches up when AA and AF are turned on. neither is a barn burner. the x1300 pro is probably tied in wins/losses with the x700, but tends to pull ahead when AA and AF are turned on.

but the x1300 pro will be a much nicer card for video editing assuming ATi's hardware acceleration is taken advantage of.

For that price range 6600GT is good, mine plays all of those games fine. Then there's the 6800GS, which will give you slightly more power.

I won't go any higher than 1024x768. I ran my old system with an AIW 7500 at 800x600 for what few games I did play, and it was fine. I'm not a hardcore gamer, and don't play online, so even 800x600 is fine with me, as long as it's smooth, and not too crappy looking. I may end up going with the X700 128 mb version which will also enable me to upgrade my system memory from 512 to 1 gig for the same amount of money.
