x6800 availiablity dates

Now I know the Video industry is good at paper launches, but general availiablity has been at or about Aug. 7th for Core 2 Duo Processors, now I got an email from Directron.com that states that the ETA is 8/22/06 2 weeks from laucn is acceptable but 4 weeks is a paper launch if there ever was one. Either the B2 revison of the ChIp was bad and they are spinning a B3 revison, or else something else was wrong because a 4 week delay is just to long, if they were not going to have CPUs for 4 weeks then a July 27th date is just a plain lie. I personally have a lot invested in the purchase of a x6800 or e6700, but a month is going to be an issue and many of the components will be here next week. (Based on a CPU ETA of 8/7 and a week to construct and setup the case so that it is ready for the CPU).

NOTE: Normally I purchase about the release date (done it with the org. p4 3GHZ, dual AMD 275's and a AMD 4600+, never have I seen a delay of more than a week or 2 from the launch date until now.

just to inform you, but directron.com is quite slow in getting hardware. they just got the asus p5w dh deluxe in their store but its ETA is still not here.
 
Microcenter is advertising 8/7... an actual retail store.

I'd expect the big e-tailers to have it then, if not earlier.
 
Never heard of them... hmm... a Yahoo! storefront... the big retailers should have it on 7 Aug. Smaller fish may have to wait a bit longer.
 
Just to let you know, they are a yahoo store front, but the inventory selection is good, the service is fast and its one of the best places for CASES and the like out there today.

As for the /87 date will keep my fingers crossed, I can always get it from who ever has it first.

I had problems with directron and I wouldn't use them as a benchmark for availability. I had my order delayed 4 times before I finally cancelled it.

same here. however, they messed up on one of my orders before already and I haven't bought anything from them since.
 
Retail Conroes are trickling onto Ebat. That means they're out there. Maybe Directron go their initial stocking order in late or maybe their having creidt problems with their disti.

That's probably because there isn't one. 8/7, huh? Sounds like a paper launch to me. I wonder how long we'll really ahve to wait for the Conroe's to show up. I guess we'll see if 7/27 is the actual availability date.

 
Microcenter won't have any (besides E6800 7/27) until August 7th.. It'd be nice if online site offered it earlier at a nice price.
