I just "upgraded" to Windows XP Pro x64, and was wanting to install service pack 2, but cant download it at home (dail-up). I cannot seem to find a direct link on microsoft.com to download service pack 2 for x64 windows. Could someone please point me to the link, if there is one, for this download?

Is there a service pack to for Windows XP x64 Edition? I couldn't find a reference to it. The IT Professionals installer for XP SP2 is not compatible with XP x64.

I think there is a service pack for x64, if you go to microsoft.com and navagate to the x64 homepage, there is a link to download sp2, but you have to do it through the windows update page.

Yeah, but it just says "Top Downloads," and I don't think that is completely related to XP x64. All the information I can find about SP2 is that it isn't compatible with XP x64 and I see no references whatsoever to "Windows XP x64 SP2."

I was coming to the same conclusion, but it wouldnt have been the first time that i missed something. thanks for the help 🙂

Can you run MBSA V 2.0? Presumably, that would tell you if you were missing a Service Pack, and, normally, would tell you where to get the update.

MSBA = Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer

x64 came out after XP SP2 was released (August, 2004), so anything in XP SP2 would probably have already been applied.

Windows XP x64 is currently at SP1 (which is about the same as SP1 on Windows 2003 Server, which has many features in common with SP2 on regular XP, including the firewall).
