X58 Motherboard Opinions?

I'm working on a build and still need to pick out the RAM and motherboard. I know that I'll be using the Intel Core i7-950, so I was looking at the following X58 motherboards:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...SATA%206Gb%2fs

The first motherboard (the Gigabyte) doesn't appear to support DDR3-1600 RAM which is really what I'm shooting for. I don't want to go with slower RAM. The second motherboard does (the Asus). Obviously, I'm leaning towards the Asus motherboard, but does anyone out there have any ideas as to what RAM to pair with it (I'm planning on 12 GB...2 6 GB kits)? This is what I have picked out at the moment:

Any thoughts or opinions on the motherboard/CPU/RAM trio are much appreciated! Thanks so much!

Both boards support DDR3-1600 with use of the memory dividers in the bios and perhaps overclocking.

Memory looks okay too. I generally don't advise people to spend a lot on memory unless they're really into hardcore overclocking and competitive benching. So I think it's a pretty decent set.

Just out of curiosity, are you going to be overclocking? If you are, you could save a tad bit of money if you step down to an i7 920.

Gigabyte has the some of the crappiest customer service in the industry. I just went round and round with them over a new gone bad mb. I had to threaten them to get them to do me right. I would recommend that you get an evga mb. They are first class when it comes to service and support.

The only reason to go for more expensive MoBos in my opinion is for either USB 3.0 or SATA 6Gbps. Even for overclocking, I got my $170 ASRock running my i7 920 at 4.2GHz on air. For Memory, 1066/1333 is all you need, especially if overclocking. Just go for low voltage (ie 1.5-1.6).
