X58 chipset board with 775 Socket?

Has anyone seen mention of a possible X58 chipset board that uses the older Intel 775 socket? I'm guessing: ASRock brand, if previous boards are any indication.
Or: is that impossible, due to the re-location of the memory controller to the CPU?
Thanks in advance.

Well, it really wouldn't make any sense or be possible to put X58 and 775 together. The lack of a memory controller is probably one of many things that would cause incompatibility - X58 is specifically designed for Nehalem.

Or alternatively: a less expensive dual-core i7 CPU?
Something comparable to an E8600?
[Why are i7's only offered in quad core designs?]
In other words: I'm looking for a motherboard/CPU combination that has 6x DDR3-1600 slots
but no DDR2 slots. And can use less expensive dual-core CPU's, as opposed to X58 board's quad-core i7 CPU's.

wont exsist. the X58 chipset lacks a memory controller like the chipsets prior to it, and while there will be dual core i7s later this year, they wont have tri channel memory, so you will only get 4 DIMM slots. i7 is only offered in quad right now because this is the enthusiast/high end offering. if they wanted it to be cheap they would have released something else along with it. once these chips are out, they will probably be the last dual core cpus to be released for the desktop market also. by then program multithreading should be picking up considerably, so it will make sense for the average consumer. intel will be on its way to 16core CPUs on the high end with sandy bridge
