X300SE based on 9200SE or 9600SE?

Just got one for next to nothing and put it in an MSI 915P combo/Celery 2.66 (also cost next to nothing-place went out of business)

Ran 3dmk2k1se 6300
Seems to run desert combat at max settings 1024x768 without chugging (I'm surprised)
Had a 9200se in an XP2400 rig that seemed barely faster than a 7500.

Did a search and in some threads people say 9200 and others say 9600. Well what is it?

And yes I know it's slow! Just curious

wow. nice you are happy with it, but i thought the x600 was the 9600 converted to pcie. besides, im sure a 9600 would score better than my geforce2 ultra in 3dmark01(~5900).

Still not sure look at this article "a 110nm fab process for the X300 (which we assume to be based on the 9600 core due to its RV370 model number"

Clearly 9600, they have 2 vertex pipelines. Architecture is RV370, 9600XT is 360.
