Im building a silent HTPC and have a problem choosing the right GFX.

I have tried an ATI X600XT 128MB DRAM but it had a fan that was a bit noicy.

I have just now an ATI X300SE (128MB hypermemory, think its 32MB videomemory). Its fanless but is a bit slow.

Im thinking buying an ATI X600SE 128MB DRAM which is fanless. How would you compare the X600SE with the X300, X600XT/Pro and the X600SE?

I just cant find any test comparement on the X600SE model!!

Ups, I forgot to mention that I will appreciate if it comes in a Low Profile model. :) Do you know if the X1300 comes in a LP-model?

We have Dells with X600SE's on PCI-E and they play solitaire fine even with the diblit explosion cheat. :)

Have just got some information on the X600 SE 128MB DRAM model that I have been talking SO much about :)

Here is the fact:

ATI RadeonTM X600 SE, 128 MB DDR SDRAM, Controllerspeed 325 MHz, Memoryspeed 196 MHz, Controlling 128 bit, Memory 64 bit.

It doesn't look so nice after all. Why is memoryspeed so low, my much cheaper X300SE Hypermemory has around 400 MHz in control/memory and 128 bit in
both.

Here's the link: http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/learn...~series=all&~subcat=dimen&~tab=details

Will you say I should make the shift? Shift to X1300? Or keep my little X300SE?

It's not it's ddr. 196mhz=ddr rate 392mhz. the good this is it dosent have to rely on your system memory which lags a lot since the request has to go from pci-e bus to northbbridge to memory, back to northbridge, back to card.

btw, either you have a x300 or x300se. x300se had only 32mb 300mhz memory and 64bit memory interface. It had 96mb or virtual memory that it stole off your ram which made it much slower.

a x300 has 128mb of local memory at 400mhz and 128bit memory interface.
