X3: The Reunion

Just got my newsletter from Egosoft and they gave me a link to the X3 The Reunion Trailer here.

Its graphics, like the previous X games are quite frankly breathtaking. Granted games like Unreal provide up-close and personal graphical wow factor showing off how real they can make people and monsters look but X3 looks to be absolutely mind blowing. Its probably going to be CPU-limited as I believe the last ones were but I thought this would be a good thing to discuss around.

The main reasons I put this in Video rather than Software is because of increased exposure and perhaps some input from other users on movie matters. One of the trailers mentions a 3ghz CPU minimum... I just assumed it could possibly make use of the added movie parts of a GPU (I dont understand the technical side, nor know what their names are). The X³: Reunion Trailer - DivX 5 Format - 1024x768 8000kbps - min. 3GHz CPU!!

I tried the X³: Reunion Trailer - DivX 5 Format - 640x480 4000kbps and was blown away.

Could be awesome.

A trailer for a game, X3: The Reunion.

Follows on from X: Beyond The Frontier, X-Tension and X2: The Threat. Space-based combat/trading sim. Best comparison is to Frontier or Elite with much more healthier trading/production options and an intertwined storyline.

Bit like Freelancer but Freelancer was more arcade-like, shoot-em up.

EDIT: X2: The Threat is also one of the few games that supports multiple monitors used for the game. I played it on 2048x768 accross 2 monitors on mt Ti4400.
