X³ Reunion - Bonus Package 3.1.07

Up until now the principle source of minerals for factories has been the large mining complexes, with mobile mining left to a few dedicated souls. Now, with the introduction of the Mobile Mining / Mineral Collection Software factories and free traders alike can easily tap the resources of the smaller asteroid debris in sectors.

Of course just flying in open space can be dangerous, but with the new ability to defend a position, setting up sentries to protect your mining ships has never been easier.

The Bonus Package version 3.01.07 is now available for download in the download section.

The following items are in this Pack:

* Afterburner
* Attack Rocks *new*
* Cartel Capture Passengers *new*
* Cartel Shield Hacker
* Collect Astronauts *new*
* Commercial Agent
* Commodity Logistics Software MK1
* Commodity Logistics Software MK2
* Defend Position *new*
* Dock Ware Manager
* Explorer Software
* Fleet Support Ship Software
* Group Management System
* Group Hotkeys
* Manual Trade Commands
* Missile Defense Mosquito
* Mobile Mining / Mineral Collection Software *new*
* Remote Transporter Device
* Scrap Ship at Player HQ
* Station Manager

I really liked the game but it is such a massive time sink that I'm better off playing EvE so that I can show off my the fruits of my wasted time.

I have hopes for the new X3:TC but the DRM on it ticks me off. I will wait a bit a see how the DRM on the DVD version affects other peoples computers (only a CD check) but the Steam version is out of the question with it being on Steam + online activation + 5 system limit (not sure about installs), that is if I can FIND the DVD version as no local store I've asked knows of this game.

You get your monies worth in this game,as to Eve well its a game where you need to spend a lot of time and real cash(sub) so in my case I prefer a free game like X3 where you have most of Eve without the cost.

I sort of jumped into X3 Reunion in the deep end but it was not hard to make cash or learn the game(apart from commitment and checking their forums for tips).

Well after I fell off the cliff called the learning curve and crawled my way back up I had 15 Universal Traders up and running making me loads of money, started mobile mining and had acquired a "Leviathan" super cargo transport to start placing my own stations, it was right about then that I realized that with all this effort at the end of the day I can't show it off unlike having a carrier in EvE (which I started playing for 3 months but then quit after getting sick of the money grind).

I don't want it to be easy, but I don't want to spend months trying to build up a battle fleet which I can never see in action due to the lag and the ships ramming/destroying themselves and others because the graphics are rendered and the collision detection turned on when I am in the system with them.

But hey, there are people on the egosoft forums that like discussing the empire they build over the past year with each other, so if you like it enough they even added a database you can upload your game stats to.
