X299 boards all have bad VRM design, and not enough power?

In a nutshell, seems that all the current X299 boards have inadequate cooling, and not enough 8-pin connectors on the mobo to feed the beast.
So, don't expect to O/C on these.

Disaster = cant OC a 10C cpu to 5.0ghz without better cooling solution.

Every other scenario is fine. Anything for a headline.

I guess this stems from Intel changing specs on the motherboard at the last second as some of the manufacturers complained about.

As per Intel's policy of no overclocking it all works, but just runs the vrms at their limit.

Der8user is an outlier with his tests - others are not reporting the same issues. That being said, once the power usage was being reported I immediately dropped an notion of getting a board with a single 8 pin power connector for the CPU.

According to Der8user, it was not the VRMs on the board that were the problem, but the "thermal armor" design that actually held heat in. He said that when putting a fan on the VRMs, they were fine.

Well, I wouldn't say all... he didn't try all of them, I very curious about the OC-Formula...
