X25-m gen 1 hangs the system occasionally (os x 10.5.8). My research turns up that it is a problem that can be solved by disabling ncq under windows - something that can't be done under os x. I am about to pull the drive and give up. Any last thoughts.

SSDs + OSX just don't work well for extended periods... yet.

Write Apple an e-mail and complain for TRIM support and all that extra jazz.

TRIM support won't help at all with a Gen1 drive.. Other than that? No idea, if NCQ is the problem then the only thing I can think of would be using IDE instead of SATA mode, which will cost you a lot of performance (especially sequential read).. horrible solution, sorry - I hope there's something better
