June launch has been reported 2 weeks ago but many just saw that as a formal laucnh with then time to get them to OEM buidlers and then by the time they reached the retail shelves it would be August to september...

PPL...I have been talking about this for weeks now and this week an etailer confirmed to me on phone that in fac tone of their vendors expect to receive shipment at the end of this month. Rumors are monarch is saying they will start receiving them in mid June....That means in all terms we should be able to have some ppl start having them in systems before the end of june for sure...

I was under the impression to meet OEM demand, X2's would not be available retail til the fall. I hope I'm wrong.

Fortunately that doesn't appear to be happening and without a Dell like OEM maker who in the heck needs that many chips???

I now of etailers who will be getting them from end of the month to 2 nd week in June and they dont build many prebuilt systems....They will be chips for us to buy...

Damn I was'nt expecting to end of q3 or even q4 like anand said... no way am I putting one of these in POS epox mobo... Need PCIe board, and DFI is only choice for me, but right now there's no graphics cards I like... wanted this upgrade to co-inside with R520 release. Now I may have to get a card like x800xl to tie me over..unless GT's drop to $280..

what to do..

Then what's another month or two? Save some more money, and you can even get a 4800+, ne?

kinda funny to see how things repeat...AMD announced them for June, so why all that questions when the duallies will come? JUNE! No need for experts to tell that they know from secrets sources that...blablblblalblbablbla. Two weeks...start smoking, nervous ppl.

though i understand ur enthusiams, cuz i cant wait until 2006 when Yonah`s arriving....when will it be on the shelves exactly, 2nd of February?? Any rumors from retailers? ;) Just kidding

I find it funny if AMD gets X2's out even in limited quantities to the retail channel before any Intel dualcore's show up. Where is the flood of Intel dualcore parts that were supposed to arrive well before AMD's?

I think dell has been offering smithfield systems for about 3 weeks....

Not that you'd want one, but there are cheap, but for a good reason.
