Core Duo, for the forseeable future 64 bit is not going to be useful for laptops, when and if they start needing more RAM than my gaming machine does (over 2GB in other words) then it might become useful. Since that's not going to happen for mainstream laptops in the near future...

Core Duo and the X2 Turions should have the same performance clock per clock, so get whichever one is priced better for the performance. Power consumption on the Core Duo should be a bit lower too.
