X2 E6 Stepping and Improved Compatibility

This thread isn't limited to SFF users- it's just what I happen to be using.

Most of the things I've read about the E6 stepping deal with the models that have 512kb*2 of cache- on those models the E6s really have 1mb*2, but half is disabled. For a while, however, I've been looking to see just how compatible my Shuttle SN95G5 v1 is with the X2 cpus. Supposedly only the SN95G5 v3 was compatible. Last night I was checking around and thanks to google and the Sudhian forums I stumbled across this: Even though Shuttle hasn't released a BIOS update supporting dual core cpus on my motherboard (see the Revision History) like they did with the SN95G5 v3 (listed as "support dual code cpus" in its Revision History), shuttle now lists the E6 stepping as being completely compatible with the SN95G5 v1. I've heard other reports of E6s working where other X2s didn't work as well. What are your thoughts?
