X2 and games

Hi all,
I have recently acquired an X2 4400+, which is great for multi-tasking, but I'm having major issues running some older games such as Half-Life etc.
Obviously I can set affinity in task manager, but this is not ideal, and I'm looking for an app which can be easily added to the application shortcut so it runs automatically.

I am using XP Pro SP2 with the AMD X2 driver, but its not helping.
What I'm looking for is a simple app which I can set games/programs to use 1 cpu every time I run them.
I know of an app called Runfirst, but am unsure how to add it to a shortcut.
Any help appreciated.

Did you do a clean install of OS?? Have all the latest patches?? Up to ate chipset drivers and video card drivers??? Are the symptons the stuttering or freeze up at beginning???

Yup, clean install, all patched with latest chipset drivers.

Am running an Asus A8V, Via K8T800Pro with an ATI X800XT. (Via 4.56 and cat 5.7)

Symptoms are freezing when loading game.

Setting game to use cpu0 results in no problems.

So I'm looking for something I can add to the program shortcut to use cpu0 when running specific problematic apps/games.
