X2 939 4400 leave default core v at 1.41 or drop it to 1.35?

So I had been running my mobo on auto which set the core V to 1.41 but read on a few sites that this was too much so I dropped it to 1.35, just wondering if either mattered? thanks

Lower vCore the less heat.

There's two revisions of the 4400+.

They both seem to support 1.30 - 1.35vCore so I would try setting it to 1.30v run Dual Prime95 see if its stable if not just raise the voltage by .01 increments until it is.

Thanks, did that and while it could run dual prime 95 fine I got a nasty blue screen in COD2...back up at 1.35 and everything is ok, didn't notice a huge or any real difference in temps between the voltage.

you are much better off running at 1.35 vs 1.41 if you can.

Just tried various vid settings and speedfan didn't report a change in Vcore until I disabled CnQ in bios.

msi diamond+, 4400x2 939, 2gb corsair 3200c2, w2k

1.30v in bios -> 1.34Vcore. Orthos stable ~2mins. Same cpu temp in speedfan either way but 1.30v in bios uses 8 less watts reported from CyberPower UPS.

Don't know which 4400+ it is at this point.
