What's the difference betwen x2 4800+ OEM and the retail beside retail having a fan include with it? Right now Monarch only offer OEM. Should I go ahead and get the OEM or should I wait for the retail?

Thanks

Monarch have both OEM and Box right now...
The other difference is warranty...OEM = 90 days, Box = 3 years

so fan and Warranty is the only differences btween them? I look at Monarch and the retail is ETA 8/5. I went to the Custom desktop and configure and it wasn't in there... should I just go a head and go with the OEM or wait for the retail?

If you arent planning on voiding the warranty it might be good to go retail if its not too much more $$$ especially for 12x longer warranty IMO

well I plan to OC a lil out of it... so that would void the warranty? Might as well get the OEM if I OC huh?

It's impossible to prove that a cpu was overclocked. A badly fitted heatsink would have the same effect. (The only time I ever provably voided the warranty on a cpu was when I cut some tracks on an Athlon XP). If you can live without the 3 year warranty and the crappy HSF, go the OEM route. If you want a longer warranty than 90 days on the OEM, Monarch have various options.

Actually the HSF included with the retail X2's is pretty nice, it is the same one thay use on the FX cpu's and has copper heat pipes!!!!
