I recently purchased my X2 4600+, about a week ago. My rig specs are in my sig.
My problems started when I installed the X2, I got to the desktop, and when I rebooted, it gave me a blank black screen. I used fixboot or fixmbr from the windows XP cd, and that seemed to solve the problem.
I downloaded and installed the amd dual core drivers (including the updated one) and the ms dual core hotfix.
However every time I cold boot the computer or put the computer to maybe hibernate, when I reach the desktop it gives me a BSOD saying driver less than equal error, and dumping the physical memory. Then the computer restarts and its perfectly fine.
Sometimes if I cold boot the computer my computer gets to the desktop fine, & no BSOD but I get a popup saying Windows recovered from a serious error. & yes I shut down the computer normally.
So in summary....
I get BSOD with new dual core when I do cold boot.
It restarts and the computer is fine.
Any suggestions to this annoyance is highly appreciated.
