Hi there. I've been lurking the AMD OC threads for a little while now. I think i've gotten the handle on most of the info regarding how to go about overclocking my 4400+. However, most of the guides seem to maintain that a trial and error method of small increments with each component is the only way to do it.

I experimented with the OC Guru (abit overclocking software) on my mobo a bit already and many of the settings I tried failed causing me to hang. I'm concered that if i start working with the bios now. I'll have to continuosly clear my cmos (the jumper is pretty hard to get at) and i'd have to redo all of my bios settings also. - the reason i want to start ocing with the bios instead of finding stable settings with OC Guru is that it doesn't have access to the CPU multiplyer or HTT multiplyer.

Keeping in mind that all processors have YMMV results, is there any approx. standard settings you guys know I could start with that could get me up to approx 2.5-2.6ghz and ram up to 500mhz 3,4,3,8 stock timings?

I was thinking 250x10 CPU, lower HTT to 4x and 1:1 Ram, Is this the best settings I should use for my gear? and what Voltages should I set?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks all.

My system specs are in my sig.

Sounds good. Voltages are different for every cpu. Some can handle 2.5ghz stock, others cant. Best way for you to do it is to just try. I would say 1.425 is a good start.
