X2 3800vs entire dual core am2 series processors in terms of power consumption

If I leave an x2 3800 at stock voltages and overclock it to a 4200, will it consume the same amount of power as a 4200? Would it be close? Would it be sane if I bought a 4200 over a 3800 just for the purpose of keeping it at the same power consumption level as a 3800? Overall, is there any compelling reason why I should choose the x2 4200 over the x2 3800?

Zebo is correct (although current is measured in Amps not MHz). Only reasons to get a 4200+ over a 3800+ are if your mobo doesnt support 220MHz or you want an extra multiplier for a achieving a target overclock and/or memory speed perhaps. In my case I want to use a 1:1 cpu:ram ratio rather than use dividers but try to achive more than 2.5GHz maximum overclock, hence I chose the 4200+.
