x2 3800+ vs x2 4200+ or x2 4400, worth the difference in price

I'm new to overclocking (going to have to do some reading) and, like I said, not really a gamer. I'd like to get a bit more out of the cpu but using stock HSF, etc.

I come from the Intel world where cache seems to be more important than with AMD, hence my thought about getting the 4400+.

The MSRP of the 3800+ is $354, but it is selling for $411 at this point since it has only just been released. The 4200+ is selling for $485. With those prices get the 4200+. If you can wait until the 3800+ hits it MSRP and below, then that would be a good buy at that point, but not currently, imo.

Itll be a month or two before prices really start to drop.

l recon your mad not to go for the 4400+ , l have one on order 9 days away now, its a good step up from the 3800+, and if you end up running sli in 6 or 7 months when games start to conform, you wont be disapointed, if you got the cash get the best .
Anyways if your a gamer at heart l see you getting the 4400+, most just cant resist the horseies...Its worth the extra cash in my eyes, and l see it no different to spending on a flash v8 car that de values every day, other than l get more hours of FUN on a pc...
