X2 3800+ Stepping

I put together a system recently with a X2 3800+ with a LDBFE 0610TPFW Stepping. Unfortunately I also got a Gigabyte K8N SLI which apparently sucks for overclocking (I typically buy DFI but I was stupidly sucked in by a low price); I can't get it to consistantly boot above a 210 FSB, which apparently is typical of this mobo.

Currently I'm using stock cooling, temps appear fine up to 2.4 Gig (with this board it will boot once OC'd above 210, but then goes into an infinite loop and won't boot windows past 210 FSB.

My question is whether the CPU has potential, which would make it worth getting a new mobo?

Anyone else with the stepping? I googled it and found the stepping but no confirmed OCs.

Comments?

Thanks.
