Ouch, I bet Monarch has them as well. I wouldn't touch that chip for that price with a ten foot pole, at least with what I use the PC for it's not even close to worth it for me.

Have you seen some of the Benchmarks on that chip, it doesn't really impress me too much from what I have seen so far, and I guess you probably won't get much OC out of it at all/

anand's review said the overclock was less impressive than the 4200, but in % terms the 3800+ had a better OC

E-tailers like to make money, that's why.

They know people want stuff as soon as it comes out...so they charge extra for it...:frown:

Maybe because virtually no one has them in stock?

supply + demand = price

Just give it a month or two and we may see $350 or below.

Actually, I think (supply * demand = price) would be more accurate. ;-)

? should it not be (demand-supply=price)? higher the supply, the lower the cost. Or by saying supply, are you refering to how low the supply is?

Okay, fair enough. Then the mathematically correct version would be:
(supply / demand) * manufacturing cost + 300% = price

How's that? :)

That is true....However they give you the option of ground and fed-ex saver and for me in OR it was only 6.04c to ship....

NOw when you do a combo deal at mwave you get the chip for 282.00, then I purchased a mobo, and ram and my shipping was only 10 dollars...lets see screwegg match that..they wont I priced it and same components garnered 11 dollars in shipping cost....

PPL also look at monarch in their bundled and pretested section as they have an oem 3800+ for 369.00
