Just got the x2 3800+, along with a new computer and tried overclocking.

System specs:
Antec SLK3000B
Enermax 535w PS
ASUS A8N-E, bios 1010.003
x2 3800+, Manchester JH-E6
Zalman 7700 AlCu
2*512mb OCZ EL Gold
BFG 7800GT
Hard Drive, DVD burner, etc

First attempt: Just set freq to 220MHz = wouldn't post past Asus splash screen.

Second attempt: Just set freq to 210MHz = boots into windows and seemed stable.

Third attempt: Set freq to 220MHz & changed HTT = 3, CPU voltage = 1.4, CPU mulitpler = 10, PCI express = 100, Mem divider = 166 (5:6), Mem voltage = 2.7v. Result = booted into windows and seems stable.

Fourth attempt: Same as third but changed freq to 230MHz = booted into windows and seems stable

Fifth attempt: Same as fourth but changed freq to 240MHz = booted into windows and seems stable. Ran Prime 95, using mostly ram test, for like 7 hours. All seemed fine.

Sixth attempt: Same as fifth but changed freq to 250MHz = boot into windows fine and seems stable.

CPU-z results:

Core speed: 2500MHz
Multiplier: 10x
FSB: 250MHz
Mem Freq: 208.3MHz
FSB: Dram: CPU/12
CAS Lat: 2.5
Ras to Cas: 2
Ras Precharge: 2
Cycle time: 7

AI Booster display results:

Dashboard: Fan = 1917rpm, Temp = 33C, Volt = 1.39, FSB = 1000.00
NOS: Memory = 2.70v, PCIE = 3.33v, System 34C, Chipset fan = 5003rpm, Chassis fan = 1394rpm.

I'm posting so things seem good but I was just wondering what you all thought of my settings and results. Is there something I should change to make things even better? Is there somethig that I'm missing? Etc.

Thanks

Since you have an X2 you should be running 2 instances of P95TT, did you? Also, many seem to be raving about S&M as a stability tester, so give it a go. That all goes well, you can keep tweaking upwards if desired.

Didn't run 2 instances of prime.

Just surfing the net today at 2500MHz and I blued screened twice with the IRQ_Less_Than message. I dropped the FSB to 240 for now. Will fiddle with it later.

Thanks

Don't forget to checkout Zebo's guide stickied up top if you haven't already.

Upped the voltage to 1.45 and freq to 250MHz. So far so good (no blue screen where I had them before). Will leave at these settings a while, see what happens, and then try 2.6GHz.

I did read Zebo's guide. A bit confusing for this newbie but I seemed to have gotten somewhere with it as I've reached this far :)

PS. I just blue screened (45min after changing settings) with the same IRQ_LESS message. Dropped freq to 240MHz and will leave it there for a while. Sunday football soon, plus want to try burning dvd's etc.

you need to run 2x something (superpi 32M, prime95 small/large fft, 2x OCCT, etc.) you can't just one run instance of a stability program... you need two since it's dual core.

If you're refering to my last post or the other one where I blue screened, both times were from just surfing.

I will do the 2x prime thing later tonight.

Thanks
