X2 3600+

Xbit had an article about it. If memory serves, it was a 1.8Ghz, 256kb L2 cache, chip, closer to a dual core Sempron than an A64. Haven't seen anything in retail channels though I don't usually look at OEM systems. It may be an OEM only CPU.

It will be around $135 if it ever makes to the channel. 😉 Supply is very tight right now with Acer, HP, and now Dell gearing up for the holiday season. The reason I mention those three is that they are at the top of the distribution list currently for AMD.

I would hope it would be less than $135, since you can get the X2 3800+ for $150 practically, and one even went for sale for $130 during a hot deal.

They certainly exist. i can get them at any one of about 20 retailers. I'm in New Zealand by the way.

Too true. Im in Australia and I havent been able to find a reputable store that doesnt sell them. They are going for about $190 AUD.

I'm not kidding there are a number of very reputable stores that have been selling them for at least a month now. They arent going for much less that $230 NZD. Though, with tax back that comes down to about $210 NZD.

Bah, I'm from Australia and we've had these here for the best part of a month...

If it wasn't for Conroe these would be selling like hotcakes, but it seems only those on a tight budget are considering these nowadays.

Still, it's a much better option for value dualcore than the PD 805/820 IMO.

Yeah it is funny that they release them down here before in the US, but hey i'm not complianing.

They are a really good deal if you are on a budget, so much cooler and faster than the cheaper PentiumD's.

I wonder why they released them into Australia first before here?
Actually, better yet, I'm wondering why I don't see any on eBay. I'd like to see what sort of price they'd command here.

*Edit*
$190 AUD = $145 USD. I could get an X2 3800+ for $5 more 😛

You can't do a direct comparison based on currency rates - I think the goods tax rates are different for both countries.

They probably don't have enough inventory to do a full Worldwide or even US retail launch. They probably get more benfit out of them in more price-sensitive markets.
