How does the X1950XT compare to the X1950 Pro? Based on specs, it appears that the XT is better but the XT dosnt seem to be geting alot of coverage by variouse forms of press and media. I know there had been driver issues with the XT but that is apparently fixed in catalyst 6.12 so i dont care about that. I dont mind spending extra money on XT even if it isnt that much of an increase in performance (i think it is though).
Thanks

I am also interested in getting the X1950XT, and I have been mostly unsuccessful at finding benchmarks.

From the specs I believe the XT should be a good bit faster than the Pro though: higher clocks for both memory and GPU, as well 48 Fragment Pipelines Vs the Pro's 36.

Here are some benchies of the Sapphire.

If nobody replys to my original question, i already orderd the XT and it should be here on Friday. I can tell you what i find when it gets here if you want. keep in mind i wont be able to use it untill next monday though because i will be out of town. I know it's weird posting this having already bought it but i just wanted to make sure considering i can always send it back if need be.

I did see that Revolution. Thats why i decided to go with this card. It dosnt give any comparitive bechmarks that show the difference between the Pro and XT versions though.
And thanks for the benches Noema. That is the exact card i orderd.

X1950XT is considerably faster then the Pro for not very much more money... it will run with the 512mb X1900XT & outperform 7900GTX in many cases... the only real negatives it has are the two-slot cooling solution & the fact that it produces more noise then the single-slot fan on the Pro.

The XT is by far the best "bang for the buck" video card on the market currently, especially @ $249 + $6 shipping.

Edit: I see you went ahead & pulled the trigger.. funny that you must have been typing @ the same time I was! :D Be sure to post a few benchmark results next week when you get a chance.

Mmm...I'm so close to picking one up myself. Should be a nice improvement from my current 7800GS AGP (Along with my new C2D CPU and Mobo of course).

If you think it is going to be a nice improvement for you, imagine the improvement for me goinging from a 7300 LE.

the XT spanks the Pro ... performancewise, in every way

it's just that the Pro is such excellent bang-for-buck at ~$200 MSRP ;)

and us AGPers are stuck with a pro ... [period] :p

haha, ok what word do you want me to use when 2 products are not equal by a long shot?

ok i say get the xt it blows the other away and them jumps up and down on it. there!

my real advice is wait till mid january for the 2nd generation x1950xt to come out which maybe 25% faster and sure will be cheaper. ati have given the reference design recently for manufacturers to do what they want with it. so they going to be coming up with a better x1950xt. maybe thats why we dont see much reviews.

Tuteja, you crack me up.
But, as Tuteja pretty much summed up (and does often :)), it was a smart move going for the XT.

Nice Anti-Aliasing, but it just reminds me how bland BF2 is... Dull graphics, looks like a baren wasteland and... Yeah.

Anyway, the XT looks like a great card!

The X1950Pro is no slouch though, besting the 7800GS and thus is the fastest AGP card around.

Here's a chart comparing the PCI-e and AGP versions of the X1950Pro.
