X1950XT Problems

I recently bought a Sapphire Radeon X1950XT on ebuyer.co.uk. I installed the card no problems, and it seems to work fine. However every time a new frame is rendered on the screen, I can hear a very loud 'click' coming from the card.

This only seems to happen when the whole screen is rendered, and when playing games it sounds like someone is shaking a rattle inside my PC!

Also, when i am running a full screen game, the card gets hot very quickly, often approaching 90c or more!

Does this mean I have a faulty card? Could it be installed wrong? Or is this 'normal'?

Thanks for your help!

you sure the click is from the card? anyways, other than the fan spinning up the card shouldn't make any noise. are you overclocked at all? whats the room temp? my card has never went above 82C under full load and that's overclocked

I'm pretty sure its the card, each click coincides with a new frame being rendered. It isn't overclocked, and the room temp is just normal room temp!

That is NOT normal.

I had an ASUS 1950XTX that never made any noise. You have a problematic card my friend - provided that the noise is truly coming from the card.

My guess is the click is from your Monitor.. your card however may have a problem with the fan, which could result in clicks.. whirs.. rattles.

I have a CRT Monitor the Clicks when a game changes the resolution

I wouldn't worry about any sound issues from the card. If it 'clicks', just ignore it until you see any performance slowdown. The x1950xts are usually noisy.
