Im upgrading. I game. Should I go with:

e6300 and a x1950xt

or

e6400 and a x1950pro

I can't do the e6400 and the x1950xt. I don't overclock so keep that in mind.

The 1950XT would definitely be faster and the e6300, while the slowest C2D, is incredibly fast and should be only slightly slower then the e6400.

You should consider overclocking, it is just to easy with the C2D.

Over clocking the E6300 would be very easy to suppass an unclocked E6400. I would go with the E6300 and the better GPU. But I would buy an eVGA 8800GS or GTX instead. Way better cards.

If you like using AA and AF, the X1950 Pro will outperform the 7900GS. If not, they're fairly comparable, depending on the game.

So how about the 7900gs at best buy for $150 or this bad boy:

$60 more but I sure like the look of it.

Definatly get the x1950pro. Especially since it comes pre-installed with a Zalman VF-900!!! You won't regret buying that one. Go for it.
