HI
My brother is planning to upgrade his computer with a new GPU. His current setup is:

Motherboard Gigabyte GA something socket AM2
CPU-AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2,2ghz
RAM-3x512 ddr2 800mhz
GPU- Ati radeon x800gt 256mb

Is it better for him to buy my X1950XT for about 100$ or a 3850 256mb for about ~170$
He's not a hardcore gamer, he mostly plays Call of Duty 4 online, but on low resolutions 1280:1024 or lower. What is your opinion? maybe a third option;]

Thank for any answers:p

if that is all he's going to play then he'll be fine with the 1950xt. however, the 3850 will have a much longer usable life span, and especially for a light gamer like him could last many years.

the x1950 might last him, but it is getting a bit old. the 3850 will work very well and is currently the best performance/$ card out there. @ $170 u should sell x800gt and get it.

I personally am verry satisfied with my 1950XT and want to buy myself a better card since im more of a gamer:-D So since my brother wants to buy a new GPU I thought that We could both get some benefits out of this situation:p + hee will see a vast performance boost from his x800gt :-D
Is it a crime to sell it to him for 100$?

Well as long as you'll help him with any problems he has with the card I don't see why not, prices are outrageous on ebay :p

He'd be fine with the X1950XT. I still have one and it plays CoD4 just fine at 1280 x 1024. Especially for only $100. If he's not a hardcore gamer he'll never notice the difference anyway. Normally I would side with the 3850 camp, but by the time the majority of games are DX10, the 3850 will be dated also.

Ooops. Also, he'd be better off with an 8800GS instead of a 3850 if he does want to spend around $170.
