Well, the x1950xt is around 270 oem while I'm able to get the x1900xt 512 for 240. Is it worth spending 30$ more to go for the 1950? Anyone here have the card since there aren't any review for it?

I'd go for the 512mb version since it costs less and average joe shmoes will be far more impressed with a 512mb card when it comes to resale than a 256mb card.

Performance wise, in few games where 512mb is beneficial (at high resolutions) the 512mb card will be faster but for a lot games the 1800mhz memory should give 5-7% boost.

For some reason ati cards seem to like memory more than nvidia cards (referring to the 7 series). So i think the x1900xt 512 should be on par if not slightly better than the x1950xt 256.

Get the x1900xt 512 and then just OC the GDDR3. That way you get best of both worlds.

Yeah, unlike most cards, the increase in the amount of memory does a lot more for the X19x0s than the memory speed boost (about 5-20% more performance as opposed to 3-5%). I'm pretty sure that the X1900XT 512 would be faster.

Well, you could have got one from me a week ago for $230. ;)

Anyway, it really depends on what resolution you're playing at. Playing @ 2048x1536 or 1920x1200 the X1900XT 512 will probably pull ahead. At resolutions like 1280x1024 or 1680x1050 the X1900XT's extra memory won't matter and the X1950XT will be faster. The X1900XT really is a beast though, you can't go wrong with it.

Both of those cards perform about the same. Some games use more than 256mb of video mem even at 1280x960 resolution, so for a similar price I'd take the 512mb model. Also, the memory clockspeed does not affect performance as much as the core clockspeed, so the faster memory will not make the card much faster. But the two cards perform close enough that I'd recommend just getting whichever one is cheaper.
