Which one is going to be better? I'm leaning toward the XT, but I'm not sure how the 256mb will perform as opposed to the 512 version.

Its worth it IMO the x1900xt overclocks better and has more headroom because of the better pcb. I think its the better bang for the buck card. On that note though I would get an x1950xt faster memory than the x1900xt and for the most part same price. If your going to get the x1900xt I would get the 512mb version. You can usually find it for almost the same price as the 256 used and sometimes new.

Also if your still using a xion 400w psu replace it. My brother had one and i tried to tell him it was junk. When his system wouldnt even POST he realised he needed a stronger psu (if its running that x800xl i bet just barely).

Actually, the x800xl runs just fine... it only requires a 300 watt psu. However, I did know that I would need a new psu no matter what card I buy.

And where have you seen the 512 x1900 for the same price as the 256 version? I can't find one anywhere.

Well...the X1950XT 256MB performs about the same as an X1900XT 512MB...for the same price, too!

And the x1950XT is a considerable amount better than the x1950Pro? Or is it just a few FPS? Because $270 is just a little bit over budget, and I really don't want to waste my money.

The X1950XT performs significantly better than the X1950 Pro, especially at higher resolutions. You didn't mention what res you run at. There are tons of reviews out there when the X1950 Pro came out that include the X1900XT 256/512 as a point of comparison and that's where the ballpark of the X1950XT.

Yes, it performs better, but if it's over your budget, stick with the X1950 Pro. It's still a decent card and runs things well, but you won't be able to get max details at max resolutions for all games.

The resolution I would like to be able to run at is 1680x1050. It looks like I'm going to need the upgrade to the XT, because I would like to be able to use that resolution. Thanks for the help guys!
