also, the sapphire one doesn't have VIVO, though most people don't / understand how to use it so it's kinda moot.

vivo or avivo is just a name for a picture enhancing technology ATi uses. It really only makes a diffeerence with 10 bit lcd's, so in other words it will only make a difference for 1/10,000 users... oh and people with HDCP components.

I also read one of the reviews on launch day & they (Legit or Bit-Tech maybe can't remember now) said Saphire will also have an AGP model.

EDIT : I forgot, Overclockers UK will let you pre-order an AGP GeCube X1950PRO.

VIVO is video in video out & lets you pipe in your XBOX, set top cable box or other video source.f
NV & ATI have cards with VIVO.

AVIVO is ATIs video decoding & encoding & display software.

LOL, I just bought a X1900XT off of newegg for $215... The thing sold out in less than 24 hours.

That's why I check prices every day!

nvnews . . . 'da bomb', as usual :p

what grenade?

pricing? "street price" is not $199 . . . we know that.

letsee there is the link to Interview with PowerColor?s Raymen Wu
Eran: How long are you planning to continue support for AGP architecture?
Raymen: AGP will be around for quite some time yet. In fact, PowerColor will be introducing AGP versions of X1650 and X1950 PRO very soon. There are still a lot of people that have systems that work perfectly fine and simply require a slight upgrade for their graphics.

so what grenade? :p

:Q

edit . . . ATi does discuss the 'limitations' of sli:
Competitive solutions only work on a limited number of games that are profiled in the driver. New games, older games, lesser known games, and even some current popular titles are not supported, and the end user sees no benefit with this system when running these applications.

that bomb?

Do you go out of your way to be an idiot or does it just happen naturally?

... I am specifically referring to the second sentence of their press release, which begins as follows:

"Available and shipping today with an estimated street price of US$199 ..."

I guess the clock speed changes are covered by the foward looking statements too...

And, yes, the Sli comments annoyed me the most - what they say is bullshit and they know it. If there isn't an SLi profile for a particular game you can create for yourself (and plenty of people have - check out the selection at nhancer.com), which is a damn sight nore than backfire can claim - your only option there (other than waiting for driver support) is to force AFR mode and pray to god it works.

That PR sewer just never stops, does it?

as i said . . . idiot . . . yourself . . . no grenade . . .

We ALREADY knew that $199 for street pricing is unrealistic - for now
[where have you and nv news been? "we" have been complaining about this for a couple of days] :p

btw, to update YOU [since you are NOT in the 'know' about ati] . . . Monarch lists the 1950p at $199 . . . all the etailers are doing exactly the same thing they will be doing with G80 "street pricing" in November/December.

So NEXT TIME, be specific so i can shoot you down faster . . .
thanks

:D

and "i" simply quoted ATi [as quoted in your link and not denied by them]. . . .
. . . so . . . go sue them if you think they are wong about sli. :p

I only looked at the ZZF link - yeah they list it -- but it ain't in stock.

And people who live in glasshouses (ATi prices) shouldn't throw stones (at g80 pricing)...

There is a history on ATi's side too - despite certain fanatics insisting that would never happen if ATi were to take the lead in the market...

letsee . . . i agree that ati also has that certain history . . . nvidia's is just more excessive . . . wasn't the 7800GTX selling for near double MSRP?

and what you state is impossible . . . True ATI "fanatics" insist ATi already has the lead in the market. :p

ANYway . .. you lobbed no grenade

. . . it was a dud that fell with a thud.

[a preemptive red strike disarmed it . . . days ago] ;)

Your "gernade" was some complaint about ATI on NV news concerning how that person couldn't find the card for ~$199 but understood that it wasn't ATI's fault?

Why? His reaction for that has nothing to do with the X1950 Pro.

true . . . and his grenadine had nothing to do with it --either.
:Q

... and i am waiting to see his reaction, anyway ;)

:D

[in case he was inclined to not post in 'that' thread] :p

Perhaps you missed the part where I was more annoyed about the SLI comments...

And, G80 being only 30% faster than R580 wouldn't suprise me in the slightest - it's on 90nm afterall , and the first chip in a new architecture.

Good little fanatics - downplay criticism and attack the messenger... as per usual...

With ATI's delays and availability problems....NVIDIA has no competition these days. Even if the G80 was only 10% faster it's still the only DirectX 10 on the block. Having little or no stock on a 1950pro and selling what little stock you have for $300 is not going to help their fan base any either.

Why does every semi-informative discussion turn into a green-red shootout between the same two people?

but who is gonna want to pay $650 . . . for . . . nothing?

by the time it is useful for DX10 games, it'll be too slow to play them . . . just like nv30 with dx9. :p

ati has nothing to worry about if the +30% is true . . . only a true nvidia fan - or someone hoping for a step-up refresh - would buy one.

probably very expensive to produce and will also be in short supply . . . better get one Nov 8 --IF you really want one close to MSRP. :p

and there are planty of mindless fans who will pay $850 for one . . . they never learn . . . probably also bought a 7800GTX for $800 way back when . . .
