Why aren't graphics cards based on the X1950 Pro being sold for $200? Every review of the X1950 Pro chip says the retail price for boards based on these chips is supposed to be $200 but instead they are selling for $299.

Well, it literally sold for $ 200 at BB 3 weeks ago so I'm sure it'll come down. Or at least come down again at a retail store if BB actually had a good deal on something.

What stock coolers dont stink these days? Every new card should have an Arctic Cooler slapped on it for noise/cooling purposes.

You are charged a premium for buying an AGP card. This has been going on for a while, and is very annoying.
When I purchased a used X850 Pro AGP for $150 (and that was a good deal), the X850 XT (!) PCI-E was available for $130 retail.

In this case, the AGP card actually costs more to make, since it has the extra rialto bridge chip, which also needs a different board design.

You might want to check out that thread before you bite on this deal.

A few noisy cards - but they were returned. As with anything - if you don't like the card, just take it back. $229.00 [AR] is actually a good price on this card RIGHT NOW. Who knows in a month or so - we'll probably start seeing them at that price without the rebate. :)

I have one of these cards and let me tell you it is worth the price. I have a nice 3.4 gig system with SATA drives and 2 GB of Ballistix RAM. The only bottleneck was my X800 Radeon video card. An upgrade to this x1950 card really gave my system a boost. I can now run 4x AA on all the games and not see a decrease in speed or performance.

Well worth an upgrade at this price.
