I had installed the 1950pro from HIS (oced) into my system i sold yesterday, boy is that card fast.

Dang....looks like AGP might be making a bit of a comeback....3 "new" GPU's in less than 6 months...interesting.

But then again, other than the lack of DX10 parts (they still might make it to AGP though), AGP hasn't really fallen that far behind PCI-E...

AGP 7900GS's and 7900GT's are availible for non US customers, and X1950 series cards can be had for everybody with a big ass PSU....It's not so bad being stuck with AGP.

But ja, that price is muy loco. I haven't bought anyfing from compgeeks for some time but if they still honor the 10% MC code then that would at least partially explain the inflated price but 'twould still be higher ($229) than the peppier Pro elsewhere ($219).

Ya I have the His 512 O/C version Its a great card . Fan stays @ 40% . Idle temps 32c load temps Highst I have seen temp wise was 43C. This is the coolest quitest ATI crd I have ever owned,. Great CARD.

500 GPU / 1200 mem clock....

most 512mb x1950pro models are 575/1540 or so.....


so why spend $$$ on a slower 512mb card that looks ugly to boot?

That fan looks like a plastic bowl to store food, with such price you can get similiar priced X1950XT HIS AGP Turbo or for 15 bucks more to get the GeCube X1950XT which should be far more faster.

anyhooo... still kinda confused why some1 would pay more for a slower 512mb card...

why pay $254+s/h for a slower x1950 GT card, or

using newegg(as just one price source), u can get a 512mb x1950 Pro card that is faster, for less....

The cooler on this x1950 GT merely looks bland--there's nothing really good or bad about it.
