x1900xxt or 2 7800 GT

I'd got for the single X1900XTX there isn't muc h performance advantage either way but the single card will be easier to OC, draw less power thus generate less heat and be less headache in terms of drivers (SLI still isn't perfect after all).

Not true, a quick glance at most forums, most users OC's and reviews and such will show that on the whole the XTX is a cherry picked model that OC's better then the XT version.

the XTX is not cherry picked. It is just fed more voltage than the XT, so you get higher overclocks.
