X1900XTX won't upclock itself in 3d

use ati tray tools. I assure you it most certainly should be working. If you alt+tab to look @ CCC to see if the clocks change -- guess what? You are using 2D so it uses 2D clocks! Try ATI tool and set the speed and voltage yourself. Create a new ATI Tool profile with this: 650/775 @ 1.425 volts. Leave everything else the same. Make sure you set the voltage first or else your settings will lock up the PC.

How can you tell? It only bumps the clocks up in full screen 3d mode, a 3d app running in a window will not do it. The only way to tell is to benchmark.

Herm, actually I think if you have a dual-monitor setup and have a 3D app running on one of them, then CCC will show you the 3D clocks n the other monitor. I haven't verified this myself however.

Make sure ati2evxx.exe is running, I think that's the process which handles the clock switch.
