X1900XTX question

would the 512mb X1900XTX be able to play oblivion on max settings on the ViewSonic VX2025WM 20.1" Wide Screen 1680x1050

Yes, it will play it just fine, unless you expect to maintain a constant 40fps or more in areas with heavy foliage.

I generally get excellent frame rates at 1600x1200, 2AA, maf AF, and Auto Detect the rest with my X1900XTX. You don't really want to put all the settings at max (like grass draw distance) or you'll get poor fps with any setup.

Max setting in Oblivion @ 1680x1050 really requires Crossfire or SLI to maintain decent steady framerates. I play at 1280x1024 most of the time with my X1900XTX & get very good performance, but at 1600x1200 things can get a little rough in outdoor fights... lowering view distances helps a lot though & bear in mind I'm using 4096x4096 textures & HDR+4x AA as well.

think i might get a ViewSonic VX922 19" 1280x1024, just worreid about its dead pixels prob.

or maybe get a 512mb x1950xtx?

Maybe everything on max if you don't mind dropping below 25 every so often.. should be able to maintain about 30 avgerage...I would need to do a couple optimizations like turn down AA and some grass cause I like to stay over 40FPS.. Tweaktown has a good optimizer guide for this game.

just to clearify, ur talkin about the x1900xtx or the x1950xtx?

EDIT: cyberpower isnt even selling the x1900xtx anymore.
