X1900XTX Fan setting question...

I have a X1900XTX and noticed that at stock setting the fan runs at 27% and at like 89C it only ran around 37% and I dont like to see my card hitting 89C. So I am wondering, if I use Rivatuner and set the Fan to always run at 50%, is this ok? It will not harm the card will it?

P.S. I know someone will say that Rivatuner is not compatible with the X1900 series yet, but I did the configuration file tweak, so I can get the fan settings working with my card. So please let me know your suggestions.

My max temp now is only 77C instead of 89C...So is this a safe fan setting mate? 50% at all times?

To me, 89C seems kind of scorching, but I don't know the norm for those cards. I don't see a problem running your fan at a constant 50%. Shouldn't harm anything AFAIK. I would try to get better case cooling though. I would call the manufacturer and tell them about your temps and ask them if your card is in danger at those temps, or a false reading somehow.

i'd personally set it to 100% regardless of noise

i listen to music or turn up the volume when i play games anyway
*shrugs*

how loud is it at 100%?

Well 89C is normal, in the new Maximum PC their cards reached temps of 92C and they said that was normal. I honestly don't care about the noise, it's a lot louder then my SLI rig, but like I said I dont care. I would be glad to run the fan at 100%, but won't that make the fan burn out fast? I don't care about the noise, I just want it to be cool, and my heatsinks fan not to burn out. Please let me know your suggestions, I just have to pick a constant fan speed, because Rivatuner doesn't allow me to set 2D fan speeds and 3D fan speeds.

i don't see how running to fan at 100% would hurt

this is just like the 7800 gt issue...the fan was set at 27% so something, when the users found out about it, they all set it to 100%
