I just got my x1900xt and was wondering how to use the avivo feature. I have a dishnetwork reciever that has svideo and wanted to watch it on my computer. Is this possible. I tried downloading the ati media center but when I run the setup it wont do anything, It will just close.

I don't really know what the avivo feature does, but you need an ATI AIW, if you want to use your video card to use as a TV tuner. The regular X1900XT doesn't do that.

The S-video connection on your card (as stated, output only) allows you to use a TV as a monitor, but not the other way around.

Of course, you can always buy a PCI tuner card and use that.

The X1900 indeed has VIVO capability. Install the WDM drivers, found in the same section on ATi's website as the main Catalyst drivers.

So one can use a regular VIVO card as a TV tuner/capture card? Wow, I didn't realize non-AIW ATI cards had this cpability.

Neg, there is no TV tuning capability. However, in this case, since the satellite receiver has an S-video port, it can be fed into the X1900XT. The actual "tuning" and channel flipping are done by the satellite receiver box, with its own remote. This means, for example, you cannot record programming on one channel while watching another.
